The music summer festival "The Sea and Guitars - guitar virtuoso Sasa Dejanovic & friends", become allredy traditional and was founded in 2003.

From remote times Vrsar (Orsera) is known as a natural resort. Here are meeting a different current of air that mixed mutually produce an extremely favorable effect for the health. This was the reason for the construction of the castle in the XII century. Anticipated for the Pope it was summer residence of the bishop of Porec, and place of recovery of the highest clergymen. Perhaps because of this the citadel, that in those times was possessing a wall with 7 doors, the most ancient of which belongs to the XIII century, was never visited by the black queen such a frequent visitor in medieval times. But there was one to whom, neither the walls nor the doors with custodians, could persuade. This is the case of Giacomo Casanova that, probably bribing the guardians riched to penetrate in this old city. According to what he wrote in his own Memories, he first visited Orsera (Vrsar) then belonging to the Republic of Venice, in a rainy night. It is known that he returned to this town at least once more, and that according to ancient church books the birthrate raised considerably after his visits. At the same time Vrsar is the residence of several artists of world reputation, as is the case of the painter Edo Murtic or the sculptor Dusan Dzamonja, who daily opens the doors of his Park of sculptures allowing us an unforgettable walk on this hill above the sea that lets us an impression on his art. The town received the nickname of the city of sculptures due to the number of sculptures that adorn its streets, squares and pine forests that rich the banks of the sea. Those are the fruits of the work of the sculpture students from all over the world that visit the already traditional summer school that takes place in the ancient stone quarries Montraker that already from Roman times has lent its stones for many famous works of art and architecture. The recently restored church of "St.Fosca" from 17th.century opened its doors in the year 1996 as sacral art museum.
